The CRD Division Coastal Zone of the island is monitored and explored for identification of social, economical, and environmental issues and trends. Researches, on identified issues, are performed to discover the facts and formulation of solutions. Shoreline investigations, hydrodynamic and geomorphologic data are collected and analyzed for formulation of shoreline stabilization and development projects. More dynamic and sensitive coastlines are modeled either physically or numerically for obtaining more realistic outcomes. With the increasing trend of coastal disasters, coastal risks are analyzed and preparedness, adaptation and mitigation measures are being developed.
Spatially and temporally distributed Coastal data and information should be collected, stored in a database and shared among public and private, who are active in the coastal zone for better decision making. Coastal Web has been developed and updated with current information. Coastal information system has been developed using GIS tools and updated periodically with coastal spatial and temporal data & information.
