1. "Rawana Rewula" - Spinifix littoreus (Graminae)
    Spinifix littoreus is most dominant sand dune vegetation in Sri Lanka. Spinifix littoreus is low creeping vegetation and grow along the dunes with the characteristics of trailing, deep rooting. The plant grow in extreme drought and high salinity climatic conditions. The growth of Spinifix Littoreus increases the surface roughness, reducing the speed of wind driven sand. Spinifix plays important role in developing sand dunes by sand trapping and protection.
